## Overview

Turinabol (4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone, or Tbol) is an oral anabolic-androgenic steroid developed in the 1960s, structurally a hybrid of metandienone and clostebol. The 4-chloro modification blocks aromatization, so it does not convert to estrogen, and the 17-alpha-methyl group lets it survive oral first-pass metabolism. It binds the androgen receptor and drives protein synthesis with relatively low water retention compared with metandienone. The dataset lists a half-life of about 16 hours, with 100% nominal bioavailability. Research and athletic protocols that documented its use typically split dosing twice daily given that moderate half-life.
