## Overview

Testosterone enanthate is a long-acting synthetic testosterone ester and the most common base compound in both clinical TRT and non-medical cycles. Once injected, tissue esterases cleave the ester and release free testosterone, which binds the androgen receptor and drives the classic androgenic-anabolic effects: protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, erythropoiesis, and HPTA feedback. Its 7.19-day half-life gives a peak around 1.4 days post-injection with roughly 5 weeks to steady state, which is why research protocols have used twice-weekly injection to smooth the peak-to-trough swing. It aromatizes readily to estradiol and 5-alpha-reduces to DHT, so the real harm-reduction work is monitoring E2, hematocrit, PSA, and lipids. HPTA suppression is complete and rapid, and recovery requires a structured PCT. It is not hepatotoxic.
