# Nandrolone Phenylpropionate

*Also known as: NPP, Durabolin*

Short-acting 19-nor (NPP); faster clearance than Deca. Good for frontloading.

## Overview

Nandrolone phenylpropionate (NPP, brand Durabolin) is a short-acting injectable ester of nandrolone, a 19-nortestosterone anabolic. The phenylpropionate ester shortens depot release relative to the better-known decanoate (Deca), giving faster clearance and easier titration. Nandrolone binds the androgen receptor with strong anabolic and comparatively lower androgenic activity, and it is valued in research and clinical contexts for collagen synthesis and joint support. The dataset records a half-life of 2.4 days (about 58 hours), Cmax near 700 ng/dL at the default 100 mg dose, and bioavailability near 67%. Documented protocols inject it every other day to three times weekly. It aromatizes to estrogen but only about 20% as readily as testosterone, and it is not hepatotoxic.

## Pharmacokinetics

- **Model tier:** advanced
- **Half-life:** 2.4 days (57.599999999999994 hours)
- **Cmax:** 700 ng/dL
- **Tmax:** 1.0 days
- **Bioavailability:** 67%

## Dosing

- **Default dose:** 100 mg
- **Typical range:** 50–200 mg
- **Units:** ng/dL

## Harm reduction

- **Aromatizes:** Yes
- **DHT derivative:** No
- **Injection frequency:** EOD–3×/week

## Detection time (anti-doping)

- **Window:** 60–120 days post-last-dose
- **Target metabolite:** 19-norandrosterone (19-NA)
- **Assay:** GC-MS/MS + GC/C/IRMS
- **Notes:** No direct NPP study; estimated from Decanoate PK (Palonek 2016) + shorter NPP depot half-life. 19-NA detectable ~4–9 months for Deca; NPP clears faster.
