# Ipamorelin

*Also known as: Ipamorelin*

Selective GHRP secretagogue releasing growth hormone with relatively minimal cortisol/prolactin effect.

## Overview

Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that stimulates growth hormone release through the ghrelin (GHS-R1a) receptor on pituitary somatotropes. Compared with older GHRPs like GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, it has a comparatively clean side-effect profile with minimal cortisol and prolactin elevation, which is why it gets the selective label. Like other GHRPs it amplifies the natural pulsatile pattern of GH release rather than producing a continuous elevation. Its estimated half-life is roughly two hours with around 60% subcutaneous bioavailability, and in research contexts it is often paired with a GHRH analog like CJC-1295 without DAC for synergistic GH pulses. Human pharmacokinetic data is limited and ipamorelin is not an approved medication.
